1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L Lusso (Chassis # 5875), draped in deep red over sumptuous tan leather upholstery. Designed and built by Pininfarina and Scaglietti, the 250 GT Lusso is considered one of the most beautiful automobiles ever constructed. Ferrari produced a mere 350 examples of this breathtaking automobile for the world. As such, Lussos remain exceptionally rare finds and in recent years have enjoyed considerable appreciation. Ferrari achieved a combination of mechanical sophistication and reliability by coupling their powerful 3.0 Litre V12 motor with a 4-speed manual transmission. This late-production Lusso has obviously seen little road time since its extensive and detailed restoration, performed in the 1990s. The engine bay on this example has been restored to concourse level standards. In addition to the cosmetic restoration, no expense has been spared in order to insure this car is in absolute top form. Fiorano Motors in Monterey, California rebuilt the engine in this Lusso with new main and rod bearings, pistons, cams, carburetors, and distributors, replaced the transmission bearings and gaskets, while replacing the clutch disc, pressure plate and resurfacing the flywheel. The fronts suspension was also rebuilt with new king pins, thrust washers, bushings, rod ends, and bearings. This Lusso went on to achieve the Platinum award at the Monterey Concorso Italiano in 2000! The paint exhibits an extraordinary shine, although there are a few hairline aging spots. All rubber, gaskets, glass, lenses, body panels and chrome work are in exceptional condition, as are the striking deep dish Borrani wire wheels wrapped in Dunlop SP Sport tires. Open the door and the interior appears virtually flawless! The seats, door panels, rear luggage shelf, headliner, cabin carpet and trunk carpet have been reupholstered and are immaculate. The leather is in perfect order and continues to waft its tantalizing aroma. All gauges and dashboard are like new and the odometer shows 40,247 miles, which likely represents actual mileage since new. Amidst the virtually new interior is the original triple aluminum spoke Nardi steering wheel, connecting the driver to the car's vintage soul. A perfect Lusso for any collector or true Ferrari enthusiast. Own a stunning example of a rare classic that will likely continue to appreciate in upcoming years. Government fees and taxes, any finance charges, any dealer document preparation charges, and any emission testing charges will be added
