Car Stereo Line Output Converter

Line output converter can be defined as a small device that converts high-voltage speaker-level signals to preamp-level signals; which is acceptable to an amp. If u want to connect an amp to your car stereo which doesn't have a speaker level inputs then it means you need a line output converter to have a preamp outputs. So you can connect your receiver to an amp by converting your receiver's speaker output into preamp-level signals. It consists of a transformer and (10 to 20 watts) a high-voltage resistor and connects to amp by using RCA patch cable. The amplifier in the head unit is being loaded by the resistor. It has also an adjustable gain feature to pull output.

Most of the line output converters have wire to ground the transformer. When the head unit is "on" the voltage on the output speaker wires, is almost half of the DC battery and changes rapidly when it is "on". Whereas, when the unit is "off", the voltage is 0 volt DC. As we already said, that the head unit's outputs has a large quick increase in DC voltage when the head unit is turned on. The transformer will provide the variation of voltage between the two input terminals. Since the DC voltage increases at the same time on both the input terminals, then the rhythm of the DC is irrecoverable. There are different types of Line Output Converters available in the market but Gizmo Peripheral is remained the industry leader in high quality LOC's.

There are simple Instructions for the line output converters which need to take in consideration. So connect the audio cable speaker's leads to the device from the car stereo. The line output converter then trims down all the inwards bound speakers' level audio signals until the outgoing signals get adjusted to the preamp inputs on the amplifier. An adaptor scosche performs many different applications. It accepts speaker level outputs and converts them to preamp level outputs. It has a fader control feature also that means; we can hook 2 channel amplifier or 4 channel amplifier easily and can not lose any fader control.

Adjustable line output converters helps to convert the radio speaker level output to the lower amplifier RCA level input. Installers use to convert their speaker level stereo to RCA levels with the help of Hi/low adaptors which hooks to an external car stereo amplifier. Hi/low converter with 2 channels and 4 channels are also available with or without adjustments. It is important to note that the match between your car stereo and amplifiers are the same. Adjustable hi/low converters allow to fine tune the hi/low device to match levels in the car and are the most popular in adjustable output converters. There are many adjustable output converters in 2 channels and 4 channels available. For example, Soundgate "LOC A" adjustable high performance Hi/Low adaptor features full DC isolation and handles 40 watts and Soungate "XR4", this performs dual functions such as to add an aftermarket receiver to a factory amplifier system or to add four channel amplifiers to a factory receiver. This feature can make adjustments on all four channels.

Were to buy best BMW and Ferrari Parts?

Are you in the market for aftermarket BMW parts? If so you may find that you have to pay quite a bit for them if you go through your regular retail suppliers. Because of the BMW name you will find that retailers are able to charge and arm and a leg for the aftermarket parts. When you assume that this is what you have to pay you'll pay any price. The fact of the matter is that there are some ways in which you might be able to save.

The first thing that you need to do is check out people that you know personally. If you belong to a car club you should talk with your associates and see if anyone has the aftermarket parts that you are in need of. You may be surprised by how many people have the things that you need and are willing to sell them to you for far less than retail, or in some cases they may even be willing to trade for something that you have that they need. This is a great way to go if you have contacts in the BMW world because you can often get a great deal!

Another option is to check auction sites. There are retailers that put many of their BMW aftermarket parts on auction sites. This allows for them to move their back stock while continuing selling for a much wider profit margin in their retail store. You can find all of the aftermarket parts for your car at a huge savings when you go this route. If you are looking for big additions such as engine parts or upgrades or exhaust systems saving can mean saving hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Who couldn't stand to save that much money?

Of course another option is to keep tabs on what your retailer does with their pricing. You may be able to anticipate sales and save a lot of money on the items that you want most. This may allow you to save hundreds of dollars and if you time it right you may be able to afford to buy more than one aftermarket addition to your vehicle!

All of these great ways to save are not just associated with aftermarket parts for BMW vehicles, they apply to aftermarket Ferrari parts and those associated with all makes and models of vehicles. The fact of the matter is that luxurious vehicles such as BMW and Ferrari are expensive to upgrade and being able to save on them will allow the consumer who wants to modify their vehicle to do so more affordably.

The Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra is a legendary sports car which has appeared in action movies such as The Fast and the Furious, as well as racing video games such as Gran Turismo. Toyota, the manufacture of the Supra, produced the car between nineteen seventy nine and two thousand and two. Initially the Supra was the Celica Supra, a larger derivative of the Toyota Celica. In nineteen eighty six, seven years into its production, the Supra broke away from the Celica to become its very own model, simply the "Toyota Supra".

The styling of the Supra is obviously derived from the Celica, and also the older 2000GT which was produced in the late sixties. The front engined Supra had its own logo which has changed over the years. Initially the logo was similar to that of the Celica, but now it's very sporty, aggressive, and distinctive, mirroring the characteristics of the car. There have been numerous rumours over recent years regarding the possible revival of the Supra with the introduction of a Mark V. Many online and printed publications stated the car would be released in two thousand and eight, but Toyota said this was untrue.

The last generation before the car was discontinued in two thousand and two was the Supra MK 4. Full production of the MK 4 began in nineteen ninety three, with the car being much more refined compared to the previous generations, and of greater performance. The body of the car was much more rounded than previous variations, and the engines were changed. The Japan based model had an engine which was capable of an output of over two hundred and seventy break horse power. This Japanese model could also reach zero to sixty miles per hour in the mid four seconds.

Toyota Corolla is the World's Best-Selling Car?

Exportation of the Toyota Corolla from Japan to the United States began in March of 1968. At the time, this compact car was available as a two door coupe, a four door sedan or a two door wagon. The 1.1 liter 4 cylinder engine with 4 speed manual transmission provided the power, at the time, to the smallest car Toyota had ever introduced to the American marketplace. Since then, the original simple design and reliable mechanical engineering of the Corolla have served as the foundation for many future generations of this car which went on to become the most popular car line in automotive history. With the exception of the Land Cruiser, the Corolla is the oldest Toyota model still manufactured and produced as of the 2007 model year.

The Toyota Corolla is the world's best-selling car ever, with more than 30 million sold across ten distinct generations. Although the car hasn't been sold in the UK since February 2007, as it was superseded here by the Auris, it continues to be sold in overseas markets. The Corolla owes it popularity to the fact that owning one is utterly painless, if not especially rewarding. Cheap to buy and run, the cars have always been unfailingly reliable, astonishingly well equipped and supremely practical. However, even when offered in enthusiast guise, the cars have tended to be not especially well received by the press. That hasn't deterred millions of buyers from selecting the Corolla though, because the cars have always excelled where it matters.

The Corolla is a true mixed bag of a car. On the one hand it's dull in its interior and exterior design as well as unexciting (if competent) dynamically. But it's practical, reliable, economical and very easy to live with - and that one latter point is enough to swing it for many people. Around 30 million of them in fact. Which just goes to show that to build a successful car, you don't need to create something with any particular flair.

No car has ever sold in greater quantities than the Toyota Corolla, and while that's because there were nine different generations sold in the UK before it was superseded by the Auris in 2007, it's also because the Corolla has always had much to offer. However, despite being one of the easiest cars to own, the Corolla is far from perfect; such unfailing reliability comes at a price.

Accurately describing the Corolla using purely positive terms is not an easy task; this is definitely a vehicle which was designed as an appliance rather than as something to excite the senses. Face lifted cars (post-June 2004) are a bit less bland and a bit more modern than earlier editions, but there isn't much in it.

You'd think that a 1.4-liter turbo diesel would be far too weedy to allow a relatively large car like the Corolla to perform with any alacrity. However, with 89bhp on tap and a useful 140lb ft of torque, you can make decent progress with the D-4D - things are helped enormously by the more competent handling that the car enjoys over its predecessors. The car's top speed is 112mph while its 0-60mph time is 13.3 seconds.

TOYOTA COROLLA TYPES

Dec 2001: The new, ninth-generation Corolla hatch and Corolla Verso (estate) went on sale. There was a choice of 1.4, 1.6 or 1.8-litre petrol engines along with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit.
Sep 2002: A saloon was introduced, but few were sold in the UK.
Jun 2004: A face lifted Corolla was now available, with a revised nose and tail plus better equipment levels. At the same time, the 1.4 D-4D replaced the previous 2.0 D-4D turbo diesel.
Nov 2005: A supercharged Corolla went on sale. Aimed at the enthusiast, the car wasn't especially well received as its dynamics were not especially convincing.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Toyota uses various translations of the word 'crown' for its key models. The name Corolla is taken from the Latin for 'small crown'.
  • Over the years there have been numerous Corolla spin-offs, including the Corolla Ceres, Corolla Levin and Corolla Matrix, as well as the Corolla Verso, Corolla Rumion and Corolla Spacio. However, not all models have referenced the Corolla originals. These include the Sprinter Trueno, Allex and Blade.
  • The Corolla has also been available via other car manufacturers. Over the years, the car has also been offered as the Holden Nova, Chevrolet Nova, Chevrolet Prizm and Geo Prizm.

The BMW 7 Series

The BMW 7 Series is one of best designs from BMW offering superb performance with better economy. It does win sales because of its looks as well. The 7 Series buyer is always proud to own it and rarely has got anything to complain about this car. It is well equipped and engineered as per 21st century driver's needs.

The BMW 7 Series is a superb car to drive thanks to its steering abilities. It features new system Integral Active Steering which sees the rear wheels turn in and out to assist the steering at lower speeds and reduce the car's turning circle.

The 7 Series is a top quality car constructed from sturdy materials. The attention to detail is to a high standard: subtle lights highlighting the door handles, the elegant flipping of the boot at the click of a button.

BMW offers a choice of four petrol engines but most buyers are expected to opt for the 231bhp 3-litre diesel engine we tested. It powers the car from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds through the six-speed automatic gearbox and can achieve a top speed of 149mph.

Acceleration is very responsive. The gear changes smoothly and power is available quickly whenever required. The petrol engines range from the 3-litre 258bhp 730i which adds 5mph to the top speed to the range-topping 6-litre 445bhp 760i which covers the 0-62mph sprint in just 5.5 seconds and boasts a top speed of 155mph.

Each model comes with a three year warranty. The Reliability Index indicates issues with the BMW 7 Series tended to crop up after around six years and would usually concern the axle, suspension and the cooling system.

The changes to the latest 7 Series include a pair of distinctive new rear lights, and the BMW's trademark kidney grilles are larger. There is a greater attention paid to making the car look huge and appear sporty rather.

Overall, BMW efforts seem to have been successful with the 7 Series.

Cheaper and Faster than a Porsche?

I am afraid I have to take issue with some of the comments that have been flying about regarding Honda's reputation in this country. A rather sizeable group of people have been referring to the Honda range as 'transport for the elderly' and other such comments which really fail to do the Honda designers and engineers any kind of justice at all. In fact, I have gone out of my way to prove that this paradigm is simply not the case by discovering one of the most exciting and reasonably priced sports cars available on the market; the Honda S2000.

The new Honda S2000 has already been critically lauded as a cheaper and quicker alternative to the nearest priced Porsche model. It is also just as nimble and sturdy as the Porsche in the corners, so other than the badge on the front of the bonnet, the S2000 is clearly a superior choice to the Porsche. I'm sure that has got the attention of any of the recent Honda naysayers.

As for the ever important looks department, the Honda S2000 is really no slouch at all. The elongated front gives a very commanding look to this sports car and gives a marvellous feeling of a retro Formula 1 car from certain angles. In terms of design, the S2000 seems to be the perfect amalgamation of past and present design, optimised for performance in all counts.

I would recommend the brand new Honda S2000 as the affordable choice for anyone looking to buy a sports car. It certainly has more flair and power than the Mazda MX-5 or the Mazda RX-8 (the nearest competitors in terms of price. It appears Honda have done everything in their power to extinguish the fuddy duddy image of their brand and reinvigorate it with the only way they know how; a rip-roaring Honda S2000 sports car.

Pete Ridgard is a writer and a car enthusiast. Here he talks about his passion for the Honda S2000.

The New Era of Muscle Cars?

Muscle cars have evolved a lot over the years. The days of ground pounding monsters getting 6 or 8 mpg are gone, and a new age of muscle cars, and muscle car performance parts has arrived. The muscle cars nowadays are more powerful, more reliable, and get much better fuel economy. And the ones that are modded, now that's a different story.

Back in the day, if you had a hopped up muscle car, the power was incredible, but it wasn't very streetable. Nowadays you can make some minor modifications that will boost power noticeably and give you that little bit of extra power, without making it less streetable. Of course there's tons of things today that can be done to the modern muscle cars that will boost power significantly and make them run rough. The difference today is that there are options. On most of the muscle cars today, a simple cold air intake, tuner, and exhaust system will go a long way. a minimum of 60 additional horsepower without running rough, and several more miles per gallon on fuel economy. Which means you can actually drive it.

I recently met up with a turbo charger company here locally that has a unique set up for their turbo chargers. The company is STS Turbo. The are called remote mount turbo chargers. Also referred to as rear mount turbo chargers. The car that I experienced this system on was a 2003 corvette Z06. The turbos went in place of the mufflers, and the air filters mounted back by the rear tires. You then have charger pipes that carry the air back up to the intake of the engine. This corvette, running a moderate boost level was achieving 580 hp at the rear wheels. that was on a stock motor, no other modifications had been made to make it hold the extra power.

This corvette picked up tons of power, and if the motor were to be built to hold the extra power, the boost could be turned up higher and the car could have achieved about 750 horse power at the rear tires, and that's with the base turbos that came with the kit. One of the other astonishing things though was that the twin turbo set up added a significant amount of fuel economy when it was driven conservatively. Some of the people running the sts twin turbo kits are getting mid to high 30's in the miles per gallon. A muscle car that gets awesome gas mileage and has crazy power. STS makes their remote mount turbo kits for the Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, and all the hemi cars, as well as many other vehicle applications. Times really have changed.

The Mustang Performance Parts & Corvette Performance Parts have been the big changers in the muscle car aftermarket- Dan

The Dodge Magnum

The Dodge Magnum HID kit is the perfect upgrade for your Magnum both in terms of aesthetics as well as functions. Though not many models have been added, the Dodge Magnum is popular amongst automobile lovers and comes across as a powerful and utility vehicle. Before discussing the functional use of HID kits, you can be confident that with the installation of the HID kit your Magnum will get an instant image transformation. It will truly look great and will stand out from the rest. When driving at night, the high intensity of the HID lights will attract attention to your vehicle.

Dodge Magnum is a SUV and many prefer going on long drives in it. When going out for longer duration, night driving becomes inevitable. With the poor lighting provided by conventional headlights, night driving still remains a nightmare for many. Dodge Magnum HID kit helps ease out the stress associated with night driving. The xenon gas present in the bulb helps in emitting a high intensity light, which is about ten times brighter than ordinary headlights. This light is capable of lighting a larger area and helps the driver to see the path very clearly. Most of the headlights help in lighting up the path ahead while the light available to view obstacles sideways is limited. The brighter light of HID lights also help in lighting sideways, thereby making night driving very easy.

Dodge Magnum HID kits are designed in such a way that they are simple and easy to install. You require no prior experience or expertise to install the kit. The installation guide is pretty comprehensive and will help you in the step by step installation process. The kit can be installed in no time and you can experience the joy of driving without fear thereon.

There are many stores selling after market products. You can check these online stores to buy Dodge Magnum HID kit. The kit is designed to fit in the make and model perfectly and hence you will require no further assistance once you know the vehicle make and model. You can sit in the comfort of your home or office and check out the models available at these online stores before actually buying one. Researching the different models help you judge what is required to meet your needs.

Dodge Magnum HID kits are water resistant. You can submerge them fully in water and yet no water seeps in. This feature helps when you are driving out in the rains where water seepage further dims down the light emitted. They are all tested for performance and definitely last longer than ordinary lights. With proper maintenance and care you can ensure even longer life. The longer life of these lights saves you from the hassle of frequent replacement. They are also sturdier than ordinary lights and can withstand impacts to an extent. You can simple forget the worries associated with poor quality headlights once you install a Dodge Magnum HID kit. Have a safe drive all through!

Are You a Sports Car Enthusiast?

When looking for a mini van or something a little more sporty, a place you might not think of to find a good deal would be a government auto auction where you can bid on vehicles seized for various reasons. Sometimes you can find many of the higher end cars such as, Mercedes, Bentley, Porsche, and many more. It is possible to get an expensive car for a fraction of the cost.

Here is an example. Today a 2004 Bentley with a mere 32,000 miles, top of the line condition, interior and exterior was put up for bid. Two days remained for bidding with a deposit of $10,0000 starting bid and there had been no one interested enough to bid on this car. This car had been on the site for three weeks and there were no bids at all. This just goes to show you there are many people who do not know this site exists. Therefore they are missing out on the deal of a lifetime. The chance to pick up a car that you would love to have but could never afford can be realized here.

The following will give you a few ideas about government auto auctions:

  • Government auto auctions are the easiest way to pick up an expensive car for pennies on the dollar by being the highest bidder. There are no outstanding loans on the car. The government sells them to pay for the legal action they have against the criminals who are charged with dealing drugs or other serious offenses.
  • These government auto auctions can be found in many different places all over the United States on a regular basis - weekly, daily, or monthly - often they are online auctions. Some of these cars are in very good shape, with low miles. The criminals are not considering the seizure of their cars, so they are sometimes the best sports car you can purchase.
  • The automobiles are normally ones that have been seized by the DEA, Coast Guard, and US Marshall's for drug or criminal violations.
  • These auctions can include very high profile cars such as Mercedes, BMWs, Lamborghini, and many other sports cars that can be purchased for far less than the book value, which is affordable for most.
  • Government auctions can have just about anything up for grabs - houses, ATV's, motorcycles, and boats. This can be a great addition to the sports car that you purchased.
  • There will be a day set to inspect the merchandise for sale at these auctions before the date of the actual auction. This allows you to take your mechanic to check out anything you may be interested in before the bidding starts.
  • The money to purchase the automobile you bid on must be in place ahead of time. The auction normally will ask for a bidding deposit, such as the above. If cash is required there are still options for borrowing the money.
  • This is the way many people purchase their first sports car. It is used but in very good shape most of the time. The government car auctions have many autos so you may have a normal car in mind but end up with a luxurious high end car instead.
  • The savings can be astronomical!
